Streaming Equipment

Audio/Video

Courtroom Connect provides two methods for streaming out the audio/video: Streaming Suites, streaming from a videoconference unit; and Mobile Streaming, streaming through a VBrick encoder.

  • Streaming Suites (via videoconference) – Streaming through a videoconference unit is only supported for Remote Counsel Network members. Members simply turn on their unit and we dial into them over the ISDN lines. The audio/video from the videoconference unit is then streamed over ISDN and converted to IP and out to the end user who views on the computer with a high-speed connection.
  • Mobile Streaming (via VBrick encoder) –For court reporting firms or videographers who wish to have more mobility to stream at different locations, Courtroom Connect provides the VBrick encoder. This light weight unit works with s-video or composite input and RCA from the videographer’s camera. The server sends the audio/video stream to Courtroom Connect’s servers and then streams out over the Internet. The on-site requirements include a high-speed Internet connection and Port 80 open outbound.

Realtime Text

  • LiveNote
To stream the realtime text through LiveNote, a LiveNote server is required on site at the deposition location.
  • Remote Counsel
To stream through Remote Counsel web-based text, a court reporter needs either the Case Catalyst 4.5 or higher or will need to download Cat Shuttle software on a secondary laptop.

Courtroom Connect will provide technical training and ongoing support for the streaming equipment.
